Subcellular location of PKCalphaII-GFP (green) in Green Monkey COS-7 cells using laser scanning confocal microscopy two days after transfection. The actin cytoskeleton is stained with Texas Red-phalloidin and the endoplasmic reticulum (purple) identified with an antibody to calreticulin. Guidelines for submitting a proposal

What is a Focused Meeting?

The Society welcomes proposals for Focused Meetings from Theme Panels, IT Supported Groups, and other Societies as well as individual Society members and non-members.

Organizers submitting a proposal are asked to formulate an excellent science programme. Organizers should be committed to:

  • Request manuscripts from all speakers for publication in Biochemical Society Transactions
  • Organizers are also invited to submit a general review on the topic of the colloquium/meeting to act as an introduction to the published material in Biochemical Society Transactions
  • Agree registration fees
  • Generate sponsorship
  • Ensure the meeting budget breaks even
  • Liaise closely with the Meetings Office to ensure integrity of the organization of the meeting.

Why not submit a proposal for a Biochemical Society Focused Meeting?
You have the power to influence the Society's meeting programme by submitting a proposal. Get the most out of your Society and make it happen - you submit the proposal and the Society will provide full secretariat services.
